When a young person asks how you know the Bible is true, your first job is to find out which question they are asking. The same words can carry three very different questions, and each one needs a different conversation.
This guide rests on one claim: young people come to trust the Bible through honest answers given by an adult they can bring their questions to. The answers matter, and so does the way you give them. This first movement and the last one are about the way. The four in between give you the substance: your own history with the Bible, the history of its misuse, the text itself, and the events it reports. The final step belongs to your young person, a step Dr. Susan Lim calls the second confession, which you will meet in Movement VI.
Some questions are about the book itself. Has it been changed? Who picked the books? How can a translation of a translation be trusted?
Can We Really Trust the Bible? continues with every movement, a parent’s toolkit, conversation starters and the episodes behind it. Members read every guide online and download the PDF.
