A Letter from Lisa Fields
Dear friend,
If a young person you love has asked you whose side God is on, or has stopped coming to church because of what they saw Christians post during an election, this guide is for you.
Many of our young people watch politics more than they take part in it. In a 2025 Pew Research Center survey, 46 percent of Americans under 30 followed the news and reacted to it online while staying less engaged in other parts of public life. They are watching us too. Some of them see Christians shouting at each other about parties and conclude that faith is just one more team.
We wrote this guide with you in mind. It will not tell you how to vote. Jude 3 Project holds that our ultimate allegiance belongs to Christ and his kingdom, not to any party or politician. What it will do is walk you through six questions young people actually bring: why the church seems owned by parties, what the Bible says about government, what Christian nationalism is, what the Black church learned in the fight for justice, what to do when a verdict breaks their heart, and how to post, protest and vote as followers of Jesus.
Everyone quoted here spoke on our podcast, and you can hear each conversation in full.
You will notice that the people quoted here do not all agree with each other. That is on purpose. We wanted you to hear faithful Christians who weigh things differently, and to see what it looks like to disagree without contempt.
Read it slowly. Then go have the conversation, and listen more than you talk. Our young people do not need us to be loud. They need us to be faithful.
