About Through Eyes of Color
Know what you believe. Understand why you believe it.
Is Christianity a white man’s religion? What role did Africa play in the history of the Christian faith? How do we make sense of difficult Bible passages about women and slavery?
Through Eyes of Color is a six-week curriculum from Jude 3 Project that helps you engage these questions with biblical understanding, historical context, and cultural awareness. Curated by Lisa Fields and written by Yana Conner, it centers the questions and experiences of Black Christians while equipping readers to examine and explain their faith.
Through guided lessons, Scripture study, and thoughtful questions, you will explore:
- How to study and interpret the Bible responsibly.
- Black people in the Bible and the roots of early African Christianity.
- The contributions of Black churches to faith and community life.
- The beliefs of the Nation of Islam and Hebrew Israelites and how to engage them.
- Challenging biblical passages concerning women and slavery.
Designed for personal study, small groups, and church Bible studies, Through Eyes of Color invites you to bring your questions, deepen your understanding, and prepare for meaningful conversations about faith with gentleness and respect.
